plenty of samples around - but my advise is to use one of the c# projects that uses the lower level functions to do so as speed (if you find the correct one) is not beaten by any other option
It looks like you have not done very much internet searching.
600,00 hits means nothing. None of the 600,000 hits I get have anything to do with what I am looking for.
If you know of anything out there that simply browses a network and returns a selected path, I would greatly appreciate it.
Telling me that I need improvement on my searching skills does me no help.

As an experienced programmer I presume you have carefully read your product documentation - but I guess you missed VBA's Application.FileDialog object.
Of course, perhaps you did find it but it didn't do what you wanted. In which case you need to explain to us which part of your requirement it fails to meet so that we can advise on a suitable replacement.
