Ok, this may sound like a silly question, but how do I remove a broken link? While in the process of creating my exported directory/drive, an error occured, resulting in broken link. Now every time I try to rm it, it says it cannot because the device is busy. Any Suggestions? thanks!

I would have thought a reboot might sort that out - can you bounce this box? Mike

Email welcome if you're in a hurry or something -- but post in tek-tips as well please, and I will post my reply here as well.

I'm not sure what you mean by bouncing the system. I've tried shutting it down and bringing back up again, but that didn't seem to work.

Hi

This is a simple task but first check all the
users are off the system.
At this point that you have all users off you can run from a # prompt reboot.
This will bring the system down and back a gain clearing
all processes and you will be able to use your link.

Well, even after the reboot, the status of the link hasn't changed. I still can't seem to rm, kill, or anything else it.

Try this. Reboot the system into single-user mode, move /etc/xtab out of the way (rename it) and bring the system back up.

Bouncing the system should have working. Else try ..
1. rm -rf,
2. Fsck that file system after unmounting using nolog option.
give me feedback
