Broken Http:// Server?

Hellos All,

I've loaded up my CIM and had been using it for a a few months even had the VCR functionality working on it. I returned last week from an out of town trip and went to check on the cim and am getting this error.


Checking for Compaq Insight Manager 7 service.


The Compaq Insight Manager 7 service is running.
Waiting for HTTP server to initialize...
Waiting for HTTP server to initialize...


This continues forever and will not launch the CIM (7.2) no matter what I try.

Has anyone seen this error or have an idead as to what is causing it? I really do not want to have to freshly load the software as I'd just finished configuring the VCR and certs on the box a few weeks prior to my trip out of town ( all was working fine ).

Makes sure the agents are up and running. Sometimes for what ever reason, sometimes the service might restart itself, it's happened a few times and sometimes when they restart, they get hung up and end up in starting instead of started. Web agent has to be running as well.

I had a similar issue on both of my IM boxes - prod & backup - and when I investigated further it appears to be to do with the database filling up.

I reinstalled the backup box with a much larger SQL database and so far it's been much happier. Luckily for me I had a backup of the responsible device list etc, but all I actually had to reinstall was the IM software, not the SQL server.

I suppose if you had more SQL knowledge than me you could try emptying the database manually (or growing it if possible).
