broke monitor?

my crt monitor recently stopped working, when i plug in the power supply i get a "no input" message signal blinking on screen, perhaps the wire to the pc is broken, but since that is wired inside the monitor it cant be fixed?

Try another monitor on this computer or try the monitor on another computer to see which is the broken part.

well any other monitor works well, so i know the problem is the screen.

Not all 15 pins are needed for the monitor to work - but has one been inadvertantly broken off or bent?

Could be the video cable. They can get a lot of flexing over the years - only needs one of the wires to break, and you've lost signal.

From a purely commercial point of view, unless it's a modern 17" or 19" CRT it may not be worthwhile getting the cable replaced - it'll cost more in labour and parts than the monitor is worth.

N.B. The innards of a CRT monitor can offer hazardous voltages even after having been switched off a while. Take care if you venture inside...
