In Netware 3.12 some workstations receive system
broadcast(s) and others do not. It is mainly computers running Windows 98. A few Windows 98 workstations however do receive the broadcast. I have tried the CASTON command with a response at that work staion that it will now receive braodcast, but they still do not. Any help out there?

Hi, teletron

Have you checked the message timeout in the advanced settings for the Novell Intranetware Client?

Normally that should be zero to wait for a user ack to the message. If there is a value it is in 18'ths of a second, so if it is less than at least 18 the message will be displayed for a very short time before being cleared.

This assumes you are running the Novell client.

Best regards
Jock

You can disable receiving broadcast messages from the Novell client. I would suspect that some of the clients have been set to None for Receive Messages. Check the client settings.
