This is a really strange problem. We are running Exchange 5.5 SP4 on Win2k SP4, Brightstor Exchange DB Agent, Brightstor 9.01 (Build 2020), connected to a Quantum SDLT320.

A user's mailbox was deleted, and needs to be restored. The previous night's backup completed successfully, and I see the user's mailbox in the session.

When restoring the mailbox, it starts of relatively well - seeks for the location, begins the backup, and after about 5 minutes the Mb/Min value varies betwenn 0.01 - 0.68Mb/m. It is restoring data, only REAL slow.

The mailbox size is 240Mb, so at this rate it will be...2006? before I get his mailbox restored.

Any Help/Ideas/Suggestions will be met with kind words of appreciation!

I experienced a similar problem when restoring a user mailbox. I determined the problem was related to my anti-virus software running on the exchange server.

I waited until after office hours then shutdown my internet connection, stopped both NetShield and GroupShield and then restored the user mailbox.

Thanks - I'll turn off the av crap and see if that helps.
