We are running BAB 11 on Windows 2000, Dell server attached to ADIC100 with 4 Sony AIT-2 drives, MSSQL backend for the database. We have 4 backup jobs that start 10 minutes apart and run at the same time. We are backing up Netware and Windows servers running version 9 and 11 agents. We run incremental backups Tues. - Thur. and full backups Fri. nights.

Recently we have started having problems, the database engine in Arcserve stops running during the full backups, incrementals complete fine. We are in the process of migrating to another server with more RAM. Any suggestions as to the cause? Also, can we migrate our database from the current server to the new one with more RAM, we weren't able to find any documentation on CA's website?

Thanks.

DB corruption. Start by stopping the engine and then deleting all the \database\r*.* files. If that does not do it then time to look into database corruption.

When you are using MSSQL then more RAM could solve your problem. SQL server consumes lots of memory.

Thanks for the responses. By DB corruption, are you saying the MSSQL database is corrupt or some database within ARCServe? If it's within ARCServe, what will I lose by deleting the above mentioned \database\r*.* files. Also, since I obviously don't understand the setup entirely, what data is in the MSSQL database and what's in the \database directory?

Thanks again.
