Hi all,

New user to the forum. I am using an avaya definity 8710 system. I have a group that has each 4 stations bridged to each other (each station has its own call-appr's and 3 other bridged lines). When an outside call comes into one of the extentions, the caller ID displays the outside number on the station being called but not the stations it is bridged too. Any one have an idea as to what might be causing this?

Thanks

Can not help you but I have seen a similar issue where an internal call to a phone with a bridged line will show the name of the internal person calling but not the extension when the call is to the bridged line. If the use calls the regular line name and extension are shown. Issue seems to only be on the briged line. Sounds similar to your issue. I contacted Avaya and asked them to investigate and maybe build a patch. Here is what I was told:

The official direction for feature requests is through the InAAU website. I have sent it to the product house, but it would be a good idea to submit through InAAU as well. They track that for response back to the User Group board on what and how many user requests have been
addressed.

Haven't got the chance to submit it yet but I will. Just reported it last week.

Anyone else seeing this issue or know of a fix?

display system spea, there is a green room feature, second to last one, SA8928

Cool command I didn't realize that was there thanks. I do dont seem to have that page the highest SA I can go to is 8869. Can you tell me what version you run and what the title is for SA8928 please.

Are these patches? Can I add them if I don't see them?

they are special applications, you would have to pay a BP or Avaya to turn them on, since they are SA's there are no documents for what they do, or at least i havent found one. i am running CM 4.0

thanks for the tip...however i cannot change these settings...is this a permissions problem?

no, only Avaya can change them, they will also charge you for it.

thanks for you help....just incase anyone else was looking at this thread, i found another way to get this working...for some reason if you have the following configuration, caller ID works on bridged lines (the right-hand column and the second page of the station's setup):

Auto Select Any Idle Appearance? y
Coverage Msg Retrieval? y
Auto Answer: none
Data Restriction? y
Idle Appearance Preference? n
Bridged Idle Line Preference? n
Restrict Last Appearance? n

it seems as though if the idle line preference is set to no, caller ID works...how i expained it in newbie terms, if the green and red led stayed on the same button, it works

rgtrgt - Thanks for the tip earlier about the SA's I didn't know this. I contacted my rep and they sent me the document on this application. doesn't look like it will help with my issue which is names of incoming caller dispalys on a bridged call but not the extension.

Admins want to see the extension on their display of the caller.

The search goes on but thanks for the tip. Anyone else have any ideas?
