I have taken over a system (exchange 2000, W2K server, Arcserve 2000). They are currently not doing a brick level backup and I want to start doing this BUT

When I go into the backup and try to select the brick level it prompts for a password. I have tried every domina, username and password combination that I can think of using ALL the system account but it jsut keeps saying invalid login details.

Anyone got any ideas why??

We have 1100.

Can this bee upgraded for free or is there a cost involved?

From AS2000 (v7.0) the upgrade is NOT free - the upgrade from 11.0 to 11.1 is.

Incidentally - just sounds like you need to setup a brick level backup account. Check the latest manuals on CA's site for details on how to do this.

FURTHER NOTE

Check your exchange rights and make sure the user is authorised in exchange admin, serevr - permissions. There is usually a specific accounts setup for exchange arcserve like exchangeservice etc - thats the usual way anyway.

ALso in programs there should be the arcserve exchange option, use this to check and configure arcserve for exchange?

Basically, its crap
