Hi Folks,
I've been working on this one for weeks - so any help that can be provided is greatly appreciated.
I have an old Picturetel videoconference unit (from around 1996), that is connected to an Ascend VSX IMUX, that WAS connected to 3 leased BRI lines from the telco. We now want to run these BRIs through the Option 11C.
I've installed and configured the MISP and the UILC card, connected one BRI to the Ascend, and the BRI is L1 UP - and L2 ESTA - so all appears to be good for the BRI portion.
When I attempt to make outbound calls to initiate a videoconference, I am monitoring the D channel (from the PRI to telco), and it is dropping with "CAUSE #88 - INCOMPATIBLE DEST". The BRI is configured as NI-1, as is the Ascend unit, so this circuit "leg" is fine. The PRI to the telco is configured as NI-2, route is VOD, and NCOS/TGARs appear to be fine.
If I do a manual call from the Picturetel, I can get it to ring my cellphone (after I answer the call drops - suppose that would make sense as my cell isn't a "BRI terminal") ... but when I call the far-end Picturetel ... NOTHING. Just the d channel message mentioned above.
Has anyone had a similar experience? And been able to work through it? What should I look for in the programming of the "PRI" to ensure that I can properly setup and seize channels when making outbound BRI calls through the PRI? Any ideas on testing process, the prove out the various equipment (Picturetel, Ascend, Option 11)and circuit "legs"?
Thank guys!!
