Hi.
Ive got an bps2000 stack (2 units)that I cannot seem to connect to via console cable. The cable is working fine with other units, and Ive tried rebooting it. The SW is the latest release 3.0.3.something if I remember correctly, has anyone heard of this kind of problem or experienced someting similar? I can connect via telnet.

?

Niklas

It might be worth checking the Console port settings by telnet (Console/Comm Port Configuration) and check it has the same settings as the other units that do connect via console.

When we tried to configure a BPS2000 Stack from a Windows 2000 server we had all kinds of strange things happen. As far as I know there is know work around for the stack issue other than use another OS (ex. Windows 2000 Professional). Out of all the Nortel equipment that we have the BPS2000 stacked is the only one I have seen have the issue. A tid bit to check.

My suggestions are what I would try myself. If incorrect, I welcome corrections to my knowledge.

Hey,
Win 2000 pro works great with the console cable. Check the pinouts or make a new 9 pin interface. Also works with 450, 460, BPS and 380's.
blue -pin 6
orange -pin 5
black - pin 7
red- pin 8
green -pin 4
yellow -pin 3
brown -pin 2
grey -pin 9

hope this is helpful!
