On a fresh install of Windows 5.1 Server, running XP, I am getting the following error every time I try and start up the Admin Console. When I manually start the Netbackup Request Manager Service, it stops after about 5 seconds.

Things I've tried:
1) server reboot
2) firewall disabled
3) ensured license key is correct
4) plenty of disk space
5) permissions appear set up correctly
6) uninstalled/reinstalled software

Thanks!

Did you add the client name into the Server list under the Host Properties of the Master Server?

Yeah, I can't even get that far - the admin console won't get past the bprd error.

Fyi, this is a single master/media/client.

XP is only a NetBackup client supported platform

Just because the Veritas documentation states a certain thing does not make it a fact

I'm sorry for have posting mis-information. The XP Professioanl is supported the XP Home Edition is NOT!

Windows XP Professional is fully supported as a Remote Administration Console to administer NetBackup servers.

Details:
According to the Operating System Compatibility matrix, the only supported configuration for Windows XP is VERITAS NetBackup (tm) Client. Note that the Operating System Compatibility Matrix only contains entries for Server and Client and does not contain a corresponding field for Remote Administration.

The VERITAS NetBackup (tm) 5.x Installation Guide(s) for Windows state that the Remote Administration Console is supported on Windows XP Professional.
"Note The Windows NetBackup servers that support the NetBackup Remote Administration Console are Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003."

This does not apply to Windows XP Home Edition.
