Is ther a BP.conf file on a Win2K master server? If there is and I don't have one, can I create one and add "force_restore_media_server" to the file. Does the file go anywhere in Win2K?

Hi,

There's no bp.conf in Windows environment. In windows , it all GUI. if not remember wrong, you can configure this in the General tab under the host properties.

hope this helps

The bp.conf for Windows is actually the registry

there's a page full of settings you can adjust there.

Ryan

Netbackup management > Host Properties >Master Server
Right Click master_svr_name > Properties
Restore tab

Populate the From to as needed.

My earlier post should state that the registry is a major part of setting up the client properly. You can adjust the port ranges there and set the allow non reserved port options.

Good luck

Ryan

I was able to do the restores from the new media server without making any resgistry changes.

NB makes the changes for you if you use the GUI to change the settings for Host Properties.
