When I make my Pdf the type in the Pdf gets a little white box around it. What is that and how do I get rid of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

...pdf created from what software, is this pdf from a design appication like Quark, Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop?

Andrew

I exported the file from Indesign as an eps then put it through distiller to make the PDF

...need more details as this could be caused by a number of reasons, are you describing the white box as a white background to all the text or is it a more like a border around the text?

...has the text been created in indesign or imported from another source file?

...does the indesign artwork use transparency making sure that text is on the top most layer?

...have you tried a straight export to pdf from indesign rather than through distiller, does this yield the same result?

Andrew

You made a PDFX1a. You also have transparency flattening involved. You will see "stitch marks" around these affected elements but they will not print.
