I'm on site with a MICS 7.1 w/ PRI. It has been going into prepetual reboot (sets flash 7 times, stops, repeats) that needs to be unplugged to stop the cycle.

I've heard that 6.x and newer will do this when the PRI is having problems and the alarm logs fill up. I've got a lot of 310 and 367 alarms (S7)in the system.

anyone know of a band-aid I can throw at this to keep it from happening until the LEC sorts out the circuit?

A ship in the harbour is safe, but that's not what ships are for.

New Glitch, it just started rebooting again and the logs were cleared.

What should I be looking at?

MICS 7.1, on a UPS, PRI Card fully provisioned, no POTS lines, condition happens 3-4 times daily.
when it happens, set buttons flash 7 times, then it stops and does it again. have to unplug to reboot system.

I've never had that happen as a result of PRI trouble. I have had it happen when I got a bad sw card. Replacing that fixed it for me.

I think Rik is right.......when ksu doesn't see s/w, the sets just flash........

Will the system run and then bounce? It starts rebooting and has to be unplugged. After cold boot it will work fine for a while (this happens 3-8 times a day.)

when the system is up, I can get into programming, all calls in and out are fine, call-pilot works, it just intermittantly goes down, sets start to flash and won't come up again unless it's unplugged and re-plugged.

another tech told them it was a power issue so they put it on a UPS and had the receptical tested.

I misunderstood......I thought it went down and never came back up. If the power has been tested (there is a power meter, Dranitz, I think, that will record power for up to a few days and can print reports), my next guess is either a defective backplane on the KSU or a bad power supply. It sounds like you are under the gun here.....you may have to bite the bullet and by a few parts before the bosses decide to let heads roll...............

What is on port 7 of your expansion card?.

Sounds like you do have issues with PRI all the time as well as the system now.

Get more details of the last few alarms, soon as crashed get reception to write down the alarm before clearing.

Hard to tell techs from vendors or customers on this forum sometimes....if you are a vendor/tech then swapping the power supply for another unit form your shop is by far the easiest thing to do and test.
