Boss and Secretary 1

Hi guys,

i have a problem with my boss, here's the scenario, when someone calls my boss and it rings he wants the secretary's phone also rings, and if my boss dont like to answer the phone the secretary will pickup the phone so i did a marping my boss number to the secretary and enabled busyforward but the problem is the secretary wasn't able to transfer the call to my boss. are there any recommendation on my problem?..

If the bosses number is on the Secretary's phone, she does not have to transfer it - because it is already on the Bosses phone. Give them Intercom so she can tell the boss to pick up the line she just put on hold for him.

Thanks for the continuous support, care to explain how to do the intercom? sorry about that im still a newbie on this and i already did reading ntp's and it seems that busyforward is only my understanding.

There is no feature called "busyforward" so the first thing you will want to learn is the actual names of the features. That will make communicating with other experts much clearer.

If you have the books, such as those from my web site, open the Feature Book D-H and look in the list for "Dial Intercom". There is a "Feature implementation" link that tells you every LD and what to enter.

Here are the common redirection features and their official names:

"Call Forward" is a user initiated action. You "Call Forward" your phone, such as when you are away or choose not to be disturbed.

"Hunt" is what occurs to calls to you phone when you are on the line that was called. In most cases you "Hunt up the keys" or "Hunt to another number" because you were busy on a call. This is the "HUNT" value on your TN.

A HUNT 000 value means "do not Hunt to a number off my phone, just Hunt up the keys". Some other features require a HUNT value to be defined, such as LHK.

"Forward no Answer" is what occurs when your DN goes unanswered. This is the "FDN" value (another DN) on your TN.

MARP is used to determine what TN is called upon to obtain "Where you HUNT" and "Where you FDN"

"Bounce", "Rollover", "Backup" or features named backwards or with other descriptors are not acceptable terms in the Nortel world because nobody knows for sure what feature you are talking about.

Ooops, there is a feature called "Busy Forward Status" but I don't think you have a good application for that in this case.

@GH: Star for ya for the terms and definitions post. Half the time spent is trying to figgur out what is wanted, 25% deciding which method is best and 25% convincing the end user that this is what they asked for.
