Is it possible to put one separate border around a group of text boxes?

I have three text boxes stacked on top of each other and I'd like to place one single border around all three. (Similar to what you can do in Excel.)

I was able to group the three text boxes together and make property changes to all three at once, but I've been unable to place one border line around all three.

Can it be done?

Hi Kerry!

Put a rectangle control around the boxes and for the special effect choose flat.

Thanks for the advice Jeff. Unfortunately, I can't get it to look like I want it to look.

I grouped the three fields and changed the special effect to flat. But that doesn't give me a border line around the (group of three) fields.

What I'm after is for the three stacked fields to be outlined by a single border line, but when I select a solid border style it creates a border around each individual field instead, giving it the look of an Excel spreadsheet with the gridlines turned on.

Is there a way to get the border line to appear only on the outside edge of the grouped field so that all three lines are in a single box?

Hi Kerry!

Take another look at my last post. Put a rectangle control arount the text boxes then set the special effects of the rectangle control to flat. That should get the look you want.

DUH!

My apologies, Jeff. I misunderstood what you meant by the rectangle control. I was grouping them and trying to modify the collective properties.

I had never used the rectangle control from the toolbox, but once I figured out what you meant it worked just fine, just as you said it would. Thank you!

I don't care what they say, ignorance is not always bliss! :-0

Thanks again,
Kerry

Hi!

No problem, everybody misreads things now and again. I'm glad it's working for you.
