bootr, unknown word error on bootup 1

My iMac shows up with a gray screen displaying:
"bootr,unknown word
failed to boot
Apple iMac Open Firmware 3.0 f3 built on 12/02/98
Copyright 1994...
All rights reserved..."

This displays after I turn on my iMac, every time. How do I get it to boot normally? Is there a way to hard reset an iMac or get past this screen without any keyboard commands? Any help is appreciated.

ok, I got past the problem with the bootr, unkown word. But now the problem is that when the OS X installation is about to begin, my mouse and keyboard are either frozen or not being detected...why?? I've tried several different keyboards and mice to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

I am having the same problem with 'bootr, unknown word' that you have described. What did you do to get pawst this bootup problem??
