Wondering how to reboot the machine in MSDOS mode. I'm trying to restore the WSOCK32.dll file and am having problems in "Safe Mode".

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Biff

The only way to boot into DOS with Windows ME, is to use a start-up disk.

To make a start-up disk, goto:
CONTROL PANELS|ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS|CLICK ON START-UP DISK TAB|INSERT A BLANK FLOPPY|CLICK CREATE DISK.

Then keep that disk in the drive and re-start the computer. You will get 4 options. Choose to option-4 (minimal boot), but if you need to run something off a CD in DOS, then you will need to start computer with CD-ROM support, can't remember what number that is. Either 1 or 2)

Hope this helps!
