Hi all

I have this problem with boot up on a pc that contained Linux 1.3 on it

I created an MS-Dos partition as Win 32 os will ultimately
be installed on this system.
The problem is the Linux os is still in bios or somthing because at boot up I get a POST message => LILO extracting Linux etc etc
I need to clear that bios

1) Where do I clear it?
2) Is it on the H/Drive or m/board?
3) How do I clear it?
4) Do I use a jumper setting?
5) Can I just remove the battery? :) (I know that'll never work)
6)Is there a nice site where I can get this info?

thanx for all your help
Craig

Is on your hard drive. Creating another partition doesn't help. Need to run fdisk, under MSdos is fine, delete all parititions, then create a partition, then format c: /s to transfer ms boot files to the drive. Hi
Thanx for the answer
Maybe I forgot to say I've done that already
I just said => " created a partition" but I really meant I ran fdisk and formatted /s to transfer the system files
onto the h/drive.

The thing is I can only boot up with a stiffy but the moment I leave out the stiffy, I don't get the normal Invalid disk etc message, It still says "Extracting Linux from bios.."

It's in the bios and I need to clear it.

thanx in advance
Craig
