Is there anyone out there who has one of these bridge routers.

The client went and cleared the eeprom completely and I can't find an replacement boot.68k file for this router at 3COM.

Please help if you can, If you don't know how to get the file from your router to your disk I can help.

Thanks
It looks like bf is still too big but the bx one appears to work.

Hi,

That's great. BX s for boundary router only, and bf is full protocol router. I don't remember main differences now, but i'm happy it works for you.

I'm having the same problem. New to the 3com units. Anyone know how to reload the images?

Thanks

hi, all

If you need load image again jus do:

1. Enter Monitor - on office connect router just push ESC key few times and you router ask you to enter Monitor.

2. You need TFTP server running on your network with boot.68k file ready to download

3. Use help to see all commands, and after use: configure flash load

4. Start downloading software with command:

FL xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:/boot.68k - wher xxx is TFTP server address

of course you need to connect BNC or TP cable. :)

Brat,

i´ve tried following the procedure but it doesn´t work ! Do you have any idea what I did wrong ? See below the messages that´s showing:

Enter Boot Filename (CR=no change): 10.0.0.1:/boot.68k

1. Client 10.0.0.2
2. Server 10.0.0.1
3. Gateway 10.0.0.1
4. Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
5. Boot Filename 10.0.0.1:/boot.68k

Choose address/mask to modify or press Q to quit:

> fl
FORMAT Flash and download Y/N ? y

Formatting ........done.
1817088 bytes available.

Trying AUI port ...
No Carrier on AUI port trying 10BaseT port ... carrier detected
Trying BOOTP ... failed

Here the monitor stopped !!!

Hi, topoh

You must change boot filename to "boot.68k" not as you have written "10.0.0.1:/boot.68k"

To use default settings in flash load use command:

"FL boot.68k" not only "FL" command.

Hope this help.
