I have a document that has a TOC. I have used bookmarks to get to the different subjects. All works fine there. However, I've also used bookmarks to send back to the TOC. So clicking on the topic heading in the document, takes you back to the table of contents. That works fine. What is weird is that when it takes you back to the TOC, the font size for the item is smaller. When I ctrl click on the toc item, the font size reduces dramatically.

Has anyone experienced this? More importantly, does anyone know how to fix? Thanks in advance for any help or
guidance.

PS...can't figure out how to attach a pic or file to this post. Sorry :(

Hi,

Using a Cross Reference might be more applicable than a bookmark.

GREAT idea Skip! I can always count on you for results. Thank you!

Personally, I use Word's web navigation arrows. That way, If I've followed a hyperlink in a document, clicking the back arrow takes me back to where I was before.

I suppose I should have specified that I'm being forced to use the ancient Word 02 :(

Hi kristieLee,

My advice pertains to all Word versions, from at least Word 97 on. For Word 2002, you can gain this functionality by activating the web toolbar. If you don't need all that toolbar's functions, you may want to delete the other icons.

Or....

Customize a toolbar you DO use, by adding only the Back and Forward arrows. This is what I do. They are not removed from the Web toolbar, I simply drag the back/forward arrows onto the Standard toolbar for navigation uses.

Back to the original question.

"However, I've also used bookmarks to send back to the TOC. So clicking on the topic heading in the document, takes you back to the table of contents. "

How are you doing that? A hyperlink?
