Does the paging port on the IP Office support the two way communication needed to use the talkback module?
If not, is there a way to use the talkback module with the IPOffice?
Maybe using a trunk port and a UPAM module or something of that nature?
Your TBM should be connected along with a TIM, CPU, and ZPM. Use a Loop Start Trunk port on the IPO to connect to the TIM. See page 16 and 17 of the PCM2000 Configuration Guide
That's the work of the TIM (Telephone Interface Module) - set it to Loop Start and it will provide Talk Battery to the IPO. See the linked manual and referenced pages
Also be aware if you connect a talk back unit directly to a CO port and you put a line appearance button on the phone of the CO port you might only have one way audio. If this happens you need to use a short code to access the CO port. Make sure the short code dials any digit to open the audio path both ways. You will also need to put that CO port in its own out going group. IPO is stupid sometimes.
Example:
CO port for paging is out going group 15
Short code:
Code - *79
Feature - Dial
Telephone Number - 1 (any digit should work here)
Line Group - 15
If your not going to it right don't bother doing it at all!
