Has anyone successfully installed the service pack for CR XI and been able to open up a universe as there connection type? I've just installed the service pack which states in the readme that it fixes quite a few issues with universes only to find that once the service pack is installed I can't actually connect to a universe and more importantly I can't actually see the Universe option under connections??

Has anyone else got this problem?

Thanks

-Steve

SP1 has to be applied to both the server (Enterprise or CRServer) and the client (CR Designer).

If you haven't applied SP1 to the server you should do so.

Thanks, Blair

Thanks for the reply Blair but surely that shouldn't have any impact on what data sets you can connect too directly through CR though??

Under the connections tab i have all the connections except the Universe tab, which is the one that I need. The universe dll's are all present in the correct directory i.e the 3.0\bin directory.

When I open the report which was previously connected to the universe I now get an error saying that the universe dll can't be found, yet they are there and in the correct directory.

These reports are just stand alone at present and are not being published to Enterprise, this is what I don't understand.

Hi Steve

I'm having a similar problem.

Did you manage to resolve this??

Cheers
Charles

Hi,
I would apply the SP to Enterprise as well..The Universe is an Enterprise object, not a CR one, so the Enterprise version ( SP level) probably needs to match the CR one.

I am experiencing issues opening ODBC(RDO) data sources. When I attempt to log on to any of the DSN's that worked prior to the SP1 install I had no problems. Now I receive an error from crystal reports stating, "Not Supported".

I reinstalled CRXI without reinstalling the SP1 and have not had any problems connecting to my existing DSN's.

Any Ideas?
