Is there anyone knows how to customize the sorting of a report which not all possible values are currently available in the database? E.g. 3 possible values A, B & C, where B is currently not in database but will be in in future. BO only allow user to customize their sorting with all current available value, how to handle this case? Much thanks

Hello Alkfhk,

If A,B and C are measures , you could define a dummy table with the right dimensions and with a dummy measure that holds B. Use this in a union query, to retrieve the dummy record holding C. At report level this will give you A,B and C to apply a filter on.
Even quicker is to define a function (instead of selecting individual values from report) that acts as the filter where you hardcode the values A,B,C. (Format --> Filters --> Add --> Define) T. Blom

That's ok T.Blom, except alkfhk is talking about sorting, not about filtering.
My workaround is (similar to T.Blom's first one):
[ol][li]Make an Excel file with all the values of the dimension object you want to sort.[/li]
[li]Make a data provider from the Excel file.[/li]
[li]Link the dummy dimension with the real dimension of your original data provider.[/li]
[li]Manually edit the sort order of the dummy dimension.[/li]
[li]Remove the dummy data provider.[/li][/ol]
