I am currently having an issue with getting a BM12 side car to work with a 9504 phone. I have it hooked up with a 1151C1 adapter and it will not power up at all. I have several of these running @ the site but they all are connected to a 9508 phone. I tried swapping out the sidecar & power supplies but nothing works.
My question is does a sidecar (BM12) work on a 9504 phone?

Thanks for any help in advance. This is a great forum.

I did find the answer in the 9500 series user manual.

9508 Phones

These phones support BM12 button modules. Each button module provides the phone with an additional 24 buttons (2 pages of 12) which can be used as appearance buttons and or feature buttons.

Up to three button modules can be attached to each phone. However the number of button modules supported by the telephone system may be limited by the total number of button modules attached to other phones on the telephone system.

9504 Phones

These phones do not support any additional button modules.

appreciate any efforts.

You are right as the 9504 do not support the bm12. I think it is stupid that the phone has a port for it.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

The phone can support it, the same way the 1408/1608s have the port. Avaya just haven't written the ability into the handset/system firmware :)

But that would undermine the sales of 9508's, so not likely to happen.

Kind regards

Gunnar
