DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

MY VENDOR TELLS ME IT IS A SOFT ERROR THAT WILL BE CORRECTED BY WINDOWS XP. IT STARTED AFTER HE PUT IN A CD BURNER. HELP!!!!!!!!!

You must update or remove the offending device driver or file system filter driver.

To locate the offending driver:

1. Use %SystemRoot%\System32\Sigverif.exe to check for unsigned drivers.

2. Check for driver updates from your systems vendor.

3. Update any software that contains file system filter drivers.

4. Uninstall non-critical devices and sofware in an attempt to isolate the offending driver.

5. Install an alternate copy of Windows 2000 in a different partition. Add drivers and software until you locate the offending driver.

The following MS KnowledgeBase article may help.

I have had the same problem. It turns out that the seagate backup exec ver 4 that I was sent with my win2k machine is not compatible with win2k. see this link: This problem is a bear to troubleshoot. I had to do a second install of win2k and keep adding programs till I got the problem back!

Good Luck!
