I have a 166 mhz toshiba laptop with 4gb hard disk using NTFS, and 96 meg RAM. I don't have a 3d card.
I've looked at everything related on these forums, eg checked bios, my processor is not overclocked. I've also tried everything on the knowledge base.

Whenever I turn on my computer, I get a blue screen that disappears instantly and then restarts, even though I have told windows not to in system properties, and in the registry, as in the knowledge base. I know it's not any of my startup programs.

I can turn it on in safe mode, but not safe mode with network support. I am using IIS 5, with perl installed. I can't find anything anywhere, and symantec personal firewall. I had the problem before I installed the firewall, so I don't think it's that.

Also, I use Nero 5, and other people have had problems with Easy CD Creator.

Thanks,

pcfreak.

pcfreak,

I'm not sure it has anything to do with your present problem but are you sure you have enough memory? I thought generally WIN 2000 needs 128 Meg to run decently.

Its easy CD creator. I installed it on a desktop machine running 2000 and as soon as i rebooted the machine after installing easy CD I got the blue screen of death. I tried uninstalling but then although 2000 would boot it wouldnt detect my external cd writer. In the end had to reformat the machine and start again.

So did you give up on the Easy CD creator or did it install ok the second time? I've got Easy CD Creator 4 on my Dell, but it came preinstalled. And this system has 256meg of RAM.

If you install all the updates for Version 4 you will be ok.
Just do not reboot between updates. You can also install Platinum Version 5 thats works ok too. But make sure if your using version 4 that you install all Updates prior to reboot

thankz, sorry, didn't say it right.

I use nero, never used easy cd on that computer, just said it in case it could help. sorry.

I tried installing SP2, and it worked fine.

Thanks anyway.
