I noticed on my ASUS MB that there is a blue PCI slot. What is the difference between this slot an a normal white coloured PCI slot?
cheers

have noticed this myself think it was a 16bit ISA slot, definatally somesort of old style slot that they still put on boards for backward compatability, altough if its a brand new MOBO it could even be the PCI Express thingy.

Here is one boards explanation of the blue PCI slot:
Hercules PCI slot (Blue PCI slot)
"Coming in a separate set of 3.3 volt power circuitry, HerculesPCI supplies needed current and making it virtually free from the “loading issue” of traditional PCI slot. In addition, traces around this specially designed slot power delivery are upgraded for making its signals much more robust than their fellow PCI slots onboard. When building machines with PCI cards, such as SCSI and RAID cards, the card installed on this slot will never be affected even when the board is fully populated. Hercules PCI keeps supplying you best performance and stability."
Basically it's on it's own power rail independent of the other slots.

I notice that blue PCI slots are 5 volt only. Check that cards to install in this slots are designed for this volt.
