my os is windows xp home edition.

i noticed this morning that most of the names of files are blue and some still on black text ; and that happens only inside the c: partition
[ windows folder and the program files folder] .

what is the reason of this problem and how can i fix it ?

Hi,
Have you Right-clicked on a group of the 'blue' files and , under the Properties..Advanced tab, unchecked the Compress options and clicked Apply?

If not on a group, try it on each compressed file.

turkbear..do you know how many compressed files i have on the c:\ ?!

well i will try to compress all files again then in the mddle on the process i will cancel and start to uncrompress them - i hope it works .

that is the only solution now .

Hi, Why cancel in the middle?
Let it finish, then uncompress.

The time it takes may be better then risking file corruption by an aborted compress process ( Windows is not always 'nice' in handling cancels)

the estimated time for a complite compress is 2 days !!

Why uncompress, now that you have done it?

You can change the color the the files/folders through Windows Explorer, Tools, View.

In the main, if you need the file XP will de-compress the folder on the fly.
