I have an excel spread sheet which gets stock pricing data from links to bloomberg excel functions (blp.xla). The functions only work on bloomberg machines, so if i open the file on another machine the link doesn't work and it doesn't recognize the name, giving me the #NAME? error. I'd like to be able to open and just see the latest data, but when i open the file, even if i don't update the links, i get pages full of #NAME?, even though i can see the numbers under the dialogue box asking me if i want to update the links. Any ideas?

I've installed all the add-ins and it still happens.

I use this function at work as well. you're right it is only available on a Bloomberg machine, so the only thing you can do is to copy the data and then Paste Special them as values.
