I am not aware of a way to specifically block calls from an outside number using the 3300.
I do think that you can direct specific inbound clid calls using the 6510 messaging server though. Not sure exactly how it works, but I think that you can play different greetings depending on the CLID. So you could record a greeting for that CLID that says, "sorry calls from your number are not being accepted."
Other than that, I think you need to go to your CO provider and have the number blocked that way.
I'm also trying to do the same thing. I was hoping to find a way to forward calls from specific numbers to a particular voicemail inbox but we don't have any messaging servers or anything, just the 3300.
First, welcome. Second, try and start your own threads because the originator of the thread gets an email notification with each new post on the thread.
And to answer your question, No, there is no way to accomplish what you want with the equipment you have. The only thing I could suggest is to assign DIDs to go to the new voicemail box and then ask the other party to call the new number.
I just wish that we could enable features like blocking incoming calls. When people ask if we can do this, we say no. Then the user, obviously, says "I can do it on my cell or home phone." It just makes us look a little incompetent especially since we spent a fortune on a new phone system.
Just wondering, could we have blocked incoming calls on Mitel's old TDM product line?
Blocking of specific calls from other numbers on the home or cell phone is done at the CO, not the home phone or the cell phone level. The exact same thing with the phone system. If you want to block someone from calling you, you will need to contact your CO provider.
That is not exactly the same as redirecting calls to seperate locations based on the CLID or playing different mailbox greetings based on CLID. The Mitel phone system is not capable of doing that, but other Mitel applications that connect to the Mitel phone system are capable of doing that.
