Hi

Can anyone help me in blocking the long distance and IDD calls on the 2250 console. I have a customer who wants the operator to make only local calls from the 2250 console. I tried to change the NCOS value in ATT_DATA, but all in vain. The 2250 gets unrestricted.

Thanks

Understandably, "The customer may not always be right, but they are always the customer" In this case, the customer is an idiot and unfortunately a customer. The console is the last place to impose restriction in place of reprimand.

If the Attendant is not being restricted by the ATT_DATA NCOS, they should be informed and then fired if it continues....this because they are intentionally bypassing the NCOS by dialing a Trunk Route Access Code to place calls.

However, if your intention is to circumvent fraud, refer to the unique BARS settings in this primer:

does that same ncos block a normal set? if so gene's right. they may have the acod.. change it to an 8 digit number.. you can not program around internal hackers.. you can block acod access with tgar/targ but be carefull.. i've never seem a switch that i can not hack if i have console access.. that's almost the key to the city

Thank you for the information. I do understand that 2250 - operator console cannot be restricted. Eventually we did a work around to do something with the pretranslation table. The console takes the XLST 1 by default.
