I set up a group-page with a four digit extension that is in the 6000s. Even though I have no other extensions in this range we still get misdials from outside callers and it activates the group-page speakerphones. Is there any way for me to block outside callers from dialing this extension? I have tried to fool around with the COR but I would need step by step instructions if that is the solution. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The extension I used is a non-DID. I think people just dial number when they don't want to navigate through our automated attendant. That's why this is a rare occurence, but still one that I would like to prevent.

You could disable the digit 6 in the voicemail so that the auto attendant can not transfer to that range of number. if you dont have extensions in the 6's then it should be ok.

We have a paging number that is built as a "CPE" trunk..
When I list trunks, it's built as TAC=290, Type=CPE.....When someone dials 290, it's live on the paging system. If this helped, let me know...I'll give more detail once I get to work and look at the trunk again, it's been a long time since I messed with it...But I never had a problem eiter.

Hi,

My 'normal' number range begins with a 6. I setup the call center number range to 3, in a non-DID group. Internal users can dial those numbers direct. External people cannot dial those numbers...

The COR solution:

Assign one COR to the inbound trunk group. Assign another unique COR to the stations in question.

On the trunk group COR page, go to the restriction page and change the Y to N for the station COR number.

Thanks everyone. These are all great suggestions that I will try. I am fairly new at handling these issues so you've all been a great help.
