I am a little hazy about the terminology. By calling number id I think I mean ANI. The number sent from the LEC on the incoming trunk.

I have looked through the help files and find nothing about incoming blocking.

I would like to be able to either block a certain incoming number or send it to a certain place. I read through the call rerouting section and see nothing that mentions incoming caller id.

The offending calls are shown below in an smdr capture.

02/06 10:56A 00:00:01 T040 *045 2525 ATT1

As you can see, nine calls on nine different LEC trunks at the same time. That is why I would like to know how to block that number. All calls answered had no response. Probably because the caller didn't get back fast enough.

About the smdr info, I understand most of it, management is supposed to be making a decision about some software if we are allowed to capture this info. It is also made to two lines due to space. What I am not sure about is (in the last two lines) *006 (time?) and U2001065A. 200 is the 3300 node address.

Any suggestions on blocking this number beyond do not call list (doesn't seem to work well) and insight in to the smdr log appreciated.

There is no function in the 3300 to block or route via incoming CLI.
You will need an external server , either Nupoint Vmail or VWM .
Both of these can route clls via incoming cli.

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Agreed with Billz66. Had heard something that Mitel might add it in future loads but no timeline for that.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Anyone else and you need to throw it harder.

Thirded. Can't do it in the 3300. If you have a NuPoint, you can send the calls through a call director box and that can do all sorts of things based on the incoming caller-ID.

If you dont have NuPoint and are willing to spend a little bit of money (not very much at all) I think something could be achieved using CRS & EHDU set up against the callers CLI on trunks set to be 'non-trusted' this would force the caller to enter a PIN before the call would be routed on. If you set a complex PIN then it should achieve what you are looking for. Its untested though.

forgot to put extract from help guide to explain:

Call Recognition Service (CRS) checks the calling line ID of the incoming call to determine whether the caller is an external hot desk user (EHDU) and whether the trunk is "trusted" or "non-trusted." If the caller is an EHDU on a trusted trunk, he or she is automatically logged in. The digits dialed by the EHDU are then processed and the call routed to the intended station or other destination. If the digits terminate on the Hot Desking Access Number, then the user is provided dial tone and may continuing dialing.

A non-trusted EHDU must enter his or her PIN to log in. Without CRS, the EHDU would have to dial the Hot Desking Access number followed by their hot desk user directory number and User PIN to log in (unless they have "Permanent Login" enabled in their Class of Service).

Thanks again everyone. Bobcheese we have nupoint so I will explore that avenue. I can see where I actually could have a little fun with it with some very confusing menus that go in a large circle.

Priorities change and now this is on a back burner and soon will likely get pushed off the stove. NEVER look in back of the stove unless you really need to!
