I have a customer R11.0.4, PRI Trunks, that we have blocked incoming harassing calls entering the CLID in the incoming number field and pointing to a Short Code. This has stopped working and I am also not able to set this up at another site that is R11.1.

ICR
Line Group ID - Matches PRI
Incoming CLI - My 10 digit cell phone number
Destination - Unused Analog Phone, Voicemail - Off DND - On
(also tried using a Short Code)
Code *98, Feature - Barred, Telephone Number - .

Incoming test calls ring to the main answering position.

I have checked Monitor traces and confirmed that we are receiving the 10 digit number for incoming CLID.

Is there something the carrier could have done to prevent this from working like it was?

Thank you!

Hey,

There's nothing the carrier has done as it's down to the IPO to call route. A couple of things, You don't need to set the dest to an unused ext or even a shortcode. If you just type in BARRED then the system doesn't match anything and should return busy.

Thing to check is that the Line Group ID is correct and also the Incoming Number (Not the CLI) is either empty or the DDI the calls are coming in on.

If this is all correct then show us a sysmon with default filters and a test call and I'll look at what the system is doing for the targetting. (The Blue text where it decides to send the call)

The complete ICR -
Bearer Capability - Any Voice
Line Group ID - 10
Incoming Number - Blank
Incoming Sub Address - Blank
Incoming - my 10 digit cell phone number
Locale - Blank
Priority - High
Tag - Blank

Destination is an unused analog User with Voicemail - Off DND - Enabled

The number I'm dialing is the sites main number that has a separate ICR routing to the receptionist HG.

Here the blue part of the trace when calling from my cell phone - (numbers changed)

Set the destination to barred as already suggested, that's precisely what it's for rather than your kludge that has now stopped working.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thank you!! Only worked when I entered * in the Incoming Number field

Incoming number blank will only match if there is not a closer match in the ICR tables
* matches any number which is why it needs to be used

My personal opinion on blocking incoming calls by CLI is it is a fruitless exercise.
If it is spam callers the scumbags simply change number & you keep adding them you will simply increase the load on the IPO for no appreciable gain.

If it is one known individual causing harassment then it should be reported to the police ^ keeping a log/recordings can help them take appropriate action (again the harasser will probably simply withhold their number once the know they are being blocked).

Good luck

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
