We are going to install a new PRI circuit to replace ourexisting T1. The carrier only sends the telephone number; it does not send the name as well (which is fine). All calls come into our M2250 console and are then transferred to individual DNs. We are looking to block certain telephone sets from seeing the EXTERNAL caller ID info. If I program the individual set's class of service to DDGD (display of digits denied) but leave NAMA (display of name allowed), will this allow the users to see the caller's name on INTERNAL calls (but not the DN, obviously) and for external calls to just see the trunk ID and member number? Thank you for your help.

i want to say nama allows my name to transmit, if know one knows for sure ill chg my sw room phone to test

I couldn't test it as far as external caller ID, since the circuit is not yet installed, but I don't think it's doable anyway. There's a grid in the NTP that shows the different scenarios of how the calling and called set need to be configured as far as DDGA/DDGD and NAMA/NAMD and none of the options seem like they're going to work. In order to have the calling phone not see the digits calling them I need to actually also change the calling set, and then they don't see something, etc. so i think i am out of luck on this one. But thank you for your help nevertheless.

i had a similar senerio where we wanted a rolm vm to not see the actual data so we had to send it out and back in on a back to back pri in our 81, costly but the gov hav plenty $$$.. worked like a champ. you can add a delay so the user doesn't see the number or name until after they answer.

Yes, but then they won't see internal callers either. I don't think I can make this work the way the firm wants. They are concerned that, in the case of our attorneys, they won't always answer their external calls (clients) if they see the number and know who it is.
