For several months our users have no luck in sending email to Yahoo subscribers. CBL and Spamhaus do not have me listed. However, before all this happened, I caught a PC using our smtp server. It was a donated PC from a major corporation. Anyway, this PC has since been trashed. But due to that incident we did become listed. I did manage to get us delisted, but yahoo never complied it seems. I am not at all sure that yahoo's resistance is related this this incident which is why am I looking for a resolution of some sort. The brass is beating at my door.

Does your mail server have an RDNS record for the public? Major ISPs like Yahoo and AOL are starting to reject mail from servers without RDNS on file. Have you gone to Yahoo's support site and read their FAQ about bouncing mail?

Edit your MX records on Friday night and change your Excghange public IP, this should take care of your problem.

You could always contact Yahoo support of course ;-)

If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, expect random guesses or no replies at all.

Actually, when I ran into this (changing ISPs) I found that both Yahoo and AOL's postmasters were fairly responsive.

The RDNS used to be largely overlooked/ignored but now is being looked at carefully.

Also, I was curious is it just Yahoo, or are you also denied sending to AOL?

No problems with AOL as of yet. Looking into the RDNS senario. Since this posting, I have received an email from Yahoo prompting me to fill out a questionaire concerning our email mail practices(bounced, mass mailings, etc.). We will see what happens. Of course I will share the results with Tek-Tips.
