I have been tasked with preventing users from using Outlook to access the internet beyond the scope of their ISA group(Internet Access None, in this case). If they use IE, all is as it should be, but when using the Web toolbar in Outlook, access is open.

Is there a way to configure MS ISA server so that the web requests coming from Outlook are filtered as if they were from IE?
I am new to MS ISA, so please be kind.

Alternately, is there a way to enforce the inability to use of the web toolbar for a group of user?

thanks in advance.

i might be going down the wrong path here but...it sounds to me like your exchange clients havent been used to http connect via a proxy (im assuming you're using isa web proxy).

found a quick link that might guide u in the right direction.

particularly the part about configuring the proxy for exchange (under the connection settings of the users mail profile).

hope it helps. :)

thanks for the link, but it isn't quite my problem.

I have users that should have no internet access and if they use Internet Explorer they do not thanks to their ISA settings.
However, the users also must have in-house email. We use Outlook2007 and via the Web toolbar, users can enter any web address and visit as if their ISA settings were Open Internet access instead of No Internet access.

I would like to find a way to close this hole, but either I am not searching for the correct phrases or it is something no one else has interest in/documented in an obvious place.
