here is the setup:
Small office setup, 4 PC's and a win 2k server on a domain connecting through a router to the internet. I am adding a pc that is not going to be part of the domain. As an added security measure I would like to block that pc from the win2k server.

In linux I could do a hosts.deny file, how do I do this with win 2k server?

Subnetting will do the trick.

You could download sygate personal firewall and just block all inbound connections from that address.

That's if you don't already have one.

There are a lot of question unanswered. Who will use the machine? Is it a part of network? Are you denying access to some specific users? Is the local machine has no dns server entry for the network the machine can not find the server.
You can also block the machine to access the server from the server configuration. Babul
