10 digit dialing
is there a way to block outgoing calls except <9, 911> unless the user enters 10 or more digits?

We are just getting used to needing 10 digits.
Presently if you dial <9, 7 digits> the call rings a few times before the operator gives the notification that the call will not go through. We like to just block the call from going out.

Hopefully in a few months we will have been trained but management is making the inquiry :)
Thx.

Management is trying to use technology to solve a Human issue. Tell them that it's not possible and that the staff need to adjust. Their home phone will not do it for them, so why try to do it at work?

remove all the 7 digit nxx from ld 90.. that will then give you a busy from the switch after the 4th digit

Well after a few days of studying ...Bars etc. I now understand what you guys are talking about. :)
And since we are a large company, i can see that i better have our service provider make the change.(don't want to void our service contract)

After importing the printout into a spreadsheet (Thx GHTOUT website), I can see all the 3 digit (not 7digit) Nxx and the spn's. Our area code is 514 and there is already an entry for 1514.
I guess i would have to add 514 (not 1514), and give it an RLI of 0 (the same RLI that the Nxx had) and then delete the Nxx's.
Well at least i can tell the telco what I need.
Seems to me it would take a very long time to delete 1200 Nxx entries.

you can do it via a script in under 2 hours... i've never seen a database change void a maint contract..

Maintenance contracts generaly include statementsto the effect "Work must be performed only by the vendor or any subsequent problem the vendor can remotely link to the customer making changes will be used against the customer"

In different words of course, but it protects them.

I always change the wording to "All work must be done in accordance with the manufacturers generaly accepted practices"

Either way, the condition is only going to be enforced if the vendor would rather you not remain a customer.

Well, we have decided to route the call to voicmail so users would have an indication why the call did not go through. I have set up an ACD that routes to voicemail but it rings once. Any idea how i could get rid of the first ring so that it just plays the message?
I tried setting up a phantom TN but that rings once as well.
