Is there a way to block external email to an internal address?

The reason is as follows:

An external email has been sent (with attachments), to an email address we use internally to email everyone within our organisation. This has caused Exchange to almost fallover and consume huge bandwidth resources.

I therefore need to quickly find a way to prevent this email address from being used from outside the organisation. Is there a way to do this? In 5.5 I simply deleted the SMTP address for the mail account but cannot seem to do this in 2000.

Any ideas please

Many thanks

All you need to do is change the smtp address to be .local eg somegroup@somewhere.local and remove any other smtp addresses that it has.
