hello guys!

I have a request from customer, he need to block a analogic phone using a shorcode.
What feature I have to use?
I've tried authorization code, but we need to block internal calls too.

tks!

more information:

I can't use login/logout, because when this feature is activated (block extension), the extension have to receive calls.

you cant "block" extn to extn calls.

you have to enable DND on all phones and set up an exception list. Good luck! :)

I'm sorry, I think I was not clear enough.

What I really need is block external calls, in other words, when this user make a external calls, the system request a password this user to liberate this call.
If not possible block internal calls no problem, i'll say to customer that is not possible, but I need a shortcode to block external calls through a password.

tks.

I believe you the function you are looking for is "Forcing Account code entry". See the Manager manual under Call Restrictions/Call Barring.

Forcing Account Code Entry for a User
A user can be required to enter an account code before the system will return dialing tone. The account code that they enter must match a valid account code stored in the system configuration. The setting for this is Force Account Code (User | Telephony | Supervisor Settings).

Tks sagbab!

I'll try this!
one question: Is possible to have a password for each user through account code?
because I can do it for authorization code.

tks!

You can use any code you want, and, as far as I know, any number of codes you want.

A simple way to do it is to configure a "Set account code" button, check the "Force account code" (see post above) and enter any number of account codes in Manager. That way the user have to push the button and enter a valid code before being able to dial out.

And of course you put your local emergency numbers as a "Dial emergency" code so those wont be blocked.

need to find a way to enable the user to lock / unlock and change this password at the extension.

tks.

Not going to happen (without some VM Pro wackiness that you really don't want to do), they need to work the way the system works not the other way around :)
