Hello Team,
Came across a different requirement as below:
Customer has IPO R9 at 2 locations connected via SCN, everything is set and working fine, there are 20 users under IPO A and 20 users under IPO B. Customer is asking whether its possible to block the users on IPO A from calling users on IPO B. But users on IPO B should be able to call users on IPO A and also should be able to use the trunks on IPO A (Currently they are using this)

Regards,
Arun

Guess what....

SCN is specifically build to allow the users to dial across sites and now they do not want that.
How about disabling SCN and use shortcode, no shortcode is no dialling.

Really silly but then people are people. Not tried any of these but try any of the following:

- At site A, set the number of outgoing channels on the SCN line to 0. See what happens.

- At site B, add shortcodes to the SCN line that barring incoming calls. For example 2XX/Barred. See what happens.

Ultimately, because they clearly don't actually want an SCN, remove the SCN lines and replace with plain H323 lines. Then you'll have to configure system shortcodes for what dialing you do want to allow between systems (ie. manually program everything that the SCN currently does automatically).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thank you SIZBUT, i will try the options that you suggested and update

You can't do this with SCN, but you could do it if you turn SCN off and just set the trunk as H323 without SCN. Then you could create shortcodes to allow or disallow dialing to anyone on each side. However you would lose the other SCN features like voicemail pro and BLf, etc. depends on how bad you need those other features.

And then how does the user on site B receive external calls?

Pepp77 Are you asking that about my suggestion? If so, I route calls in and out this way all the time. There's no issue with this.

No, my response was in relation to the now deleted post.

what about a user shortcode on all users (apply via user right?) on IPO A

2XX

Barred

GB

Greybeard - users/groups are matched before shortcodes.

My suggestion is the only working option, disable SCN and use shortcodes insteqd to dial extensions on the remote site and shortcodes for breakout.
Not taking this advise suggests to me you just don't know how to do it but maybe i am wrong, that happens occasionally.
