Hi all,

I have an issue where I need to block an outside person from e-mailing certain people in our company. This person does need to e-mail a few people in our company however, so I can't just block the address on the server completely.

Is there a way to do this?

I tried setting up Rules on the individual clients where the e-mail is deleted if it comes from this address, but it just ends up in the deleted box and they still see it. I need to stop it from coming to their inbox completely.

Hi,

In Exchange Server, open the properties if Internet Mail Service. On the Connections Tab there is a feature called "Message Filtering". Open that and add the email address or the domain name that u want to block. Apply the changes. U have to stop and restart the Internet Mail Service.

PSingh

If, in the client rule, you set the rule to permanently delete the message instead of delete it the message should be deleted from the deleted items and the recover deleted items (if you have a retention time set).

If you open exchange administrator, then select the mailbox belonging to the person you want to restrict.

Now under message filtering add the users you want them to be able to send to (or the users you dont want them to send to, which ever is fewer).

Hope that was what you were after.
