We have a blind employee who is going to be trained to answer calls on one of our 2250s. Looking for some suggestions on how to make this as easy as possible. Would a PC console provide any benifits? He is trained on using a computer.
Another viable one might be the VIOC(Visually Impaired Operator Console) T-Metrics console. Used those at most all Air Force bases I was at that had blind operators. Always seemed to work though I am not seeing-impaired so I have no clue how good they are or how they compare.
I currently have a blind employee that has been answering a 2250 for over 20 years. I'm sure he would be willing to talk to you and help out any way he can. He is not here today but if you are interested in talking to him e-mail me. tperkins@boulder.nist.gov
