Does the blaster worm effect outlook running off an exchange server? I had a client infected with it. He first noticed that outlook would hose up all the time....he couldn't move messages...he would click on contacts or other folders stored in his personal folders and outlook would just freeze. I cleaned the system of the virus however, his outlook problems have not gone away. I loaded the pst on another outlook computer and he can navigate through the folders just fine. Definitely a local issue. Also another client that was infected is having slowness problems in outlook (both are outlook 2000)

Below are the links to the applicable Microsoft patches for this 'W32.Blaster' worm:

Windows NT 4.0 Server
Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition
Windows 2000
Windows XP 32 bit Edition
Windows XP 64 bit Edition
Windows Server 2003 32 bit Edition
Windows Server 2003 64 bit Edition

I haven't heard of it causing a problem with outlook. If the computer was slow/old/limited resouces, the worm could just be tying everything up while it tries to propogate itself.

Little late, but the problem we faced was none of the workstations could contact the information store while the server was infected. Once cleaned, workstations worked beautifully again
