When I start the computer I get a password screen before windows begins setup. That screen accepts 2 passwords. I want it to accept only one. It happened because I went into setup and tried to change the password...now accepts two. Remedy?

Hi,

You don't say which version of windos you have but hunt down the file which ends in pwl.

Rename this. eg:

James.pwl

Renamed to Testfile.YOU

Then try and login. It will ask you for one password only.

Cheers

James

P.S. If it fails, then just rename the Testfile.pwl back to james.pwl

It sounds like you have set a password in the bios for user and supervisor. You can go back into setup and make both the passwords the same or set it so that it does not ask for a password at all.

Rozdon...thanks for the info. I have gone out and set both the admin and the user password to be the same. Great advice! thanks again.
