Blank Space Between Main Report and Subreport? 1

I've designed a Main Report using CR9 with a Subreport in Footer A and another Subreport in Footer B.

The reports are all linked by date and location parameters.

When running the report I've found a huge gap between the Main Report and the Subreport in Footer A. After the gap, the last line of records from the Main Report appears on the following page and the Subreports then appear. Apart from this huge gap the report works and looks fine. Any suggestions as to how I could get rid of this extra space would be most appreciated.

Right click the subreport and select format subreport and turn off the keep together option.

Also do so for the footers (report or group?) that they are in.

Just tried it but no luck I'm afraid. Can't understand why this happening. The Group Footer is suppressed in the Main Report and the Subreports are in Report Footers A & B. The Subreports seem to be behaving, it's just this gap in the Main Report before the last record is listed which is the problem.

Presumably this last record is in the 2nd subreport, and you have the keep together turned off in the report footer sections and the subreports themselves?

Perhaps you need to turn off the keep together in the subreport sections.

Make sure you have ALL unused sections of both the main and subreports suppressed. I would also check other formatting for the main report, e.g., could you have "new page after" checked for the group header? Or "Print at the bottom of the page" checked for one of the sections?

The last record is actually from the main report.

It kind of looks like this:

Page 1 - Main Report
1. blah blah blah
2. blah blah blah
3. blah blah blah ETC ETC

Then there is all blank space and then the following page looks like this:

Page 2 - Main Report
4. blah blah blah

Page 2 - Sub-Report 1
1. alkjfdlkfjdlkf
2. aljdlakjfdlkjfd
3. lkflkdsflasdf

Page 2 - Sub-Report 2
1. dkjfdlkfdjl
2. kfjlkjgjf
3. kjgflkgjlkjg

Page 2 commences with the last line of records from the Main Report and then the first sub-report commences and then following this the second sub-report commences.

All Keep Togethers have been unchecked and all suppress blank data have been checked and all unused sections suppressed. No "New Page After" or "Print at bottom of page" have been ticked. Could it have anything to do with the fact that the Subreports appear in Report Footers A & B?

Report footers occur AFTER the report has displayed all rows in the main report.

You're welcome to send the report to me, just make sure you have the file->save data with report checked.

Check my profile for an email address.

Right click your group footer and select Change Group and turn off keep together, that was the problem.

Thanks for that, your solution works.
