I hate even asking this (and I did search before) but I am using the bundled version of crystal and ASP.net. why does all my reports print a blank second page?

The new page after is not checked on any sections of the report except for the page footer. I can't uncheck it there since it's disabled. it's disabled on all my reports.

has anyone come across this?

Thanks

Yes, I supressed and supressed if blank..The funny thing is when I show the Crystal toolbar it says Page 1of1 but when using the print option from Internet Explorer it prints two pages.

Hi,
Supressing the Report Footer can cause odd behavior..Try removing the supression and see what happens.

same...removed all supressing and still no luck

Any luck fixing this problem? I've got the same thing - shows 2 pages in the viewer, but always prints 3 pages with a blank page inbetween the 2 actual pages.

Consider that printing is based on the printer driver, so if NONE or another printer driver was selected at design time, the output may vary.

Also using the IE print facility means that it prints based on what's in the browser, not what Crystal generated.

At any rate, you should try a new post and include technical information:

Crystal version
Viewer used

-k

Thanks for the tip. I tried a different printer and the blank page went away.

MDixon139,

you changed the printer driver or changed the printer all together?

I went to a completely different printer.

Originally, I was printing to an HP LaserJet 8150 using HP LaserJet 8150 PCL 6 driver and always got a blank page inserted between pages 1 and 2, regardless of what report I ran (we have about 10 reports).

I switched to a Canon iR8500 using Canon iR8500 PCL6 driver and the blank page went away.

Our printers and drivers are controlled by our network admins. I plan to work with them next week to see if any other drivers are around that we can use with the HP 8150. Hopefully, that will correct the problem.

I got our network guy to change the driver on the HP LaserJet 8150 that was printing an extra blank page after page 1 from "HP LaserJet 8150 PCL 6" driver to "HP LaserJet 8150 PS" driver and it fixed the problem.

Thanks for the info. I am using an hp4600 and I changed the driver to PS and still prints two pages. in your report, what parts did you surpress etc.?

Thanks

I have the report header and footer suppressed on all of my reports. I converted them from Crystal 7.0 to .NET 2003 and all reports (10 of them) printed a blank page between pages 1 and 2 that did not show up in print preview. So, in my case, it made sense that it was a printer problem. Maybe you've got something else going on?
